History

A History in Arboriculture.

Western Connecticut Tree Experts was started in 2018 by Arborists Hunter Dolyak and Nathan Jejer. As two alumni of Paul Smith’s College in upstate New York, Hunter and Nathan were classmates in the Forestry Program studying Arboriculture. After graduating and going on to build valuable experience with other tree companies, they always envisioned themselves transitioning their knowledge to work for themselves. In transferring their invaluable years of experience, skill sets and passion for arboriculture, Western Connecticut Tree Experts was created.

Hunter Dolyak

Owner / Supervisor / Lead Arborist

Hunter began his career in the Tree Care Industry in 2011, leading and managing teams for Connecticut Arborists and eventually Bartlett Tree Experts. Prior to his employment he attended Paul Smith’s College where he received a degree in Arboriculture & Landscape Management.

Along with tree care, he worked for the United States Forest Service for four years as a “hotshot,” fighting wildfires on a hand crew based out of Idaho. When he’s not climbing trees, he likes to spend his free time making Pure Connecticut Maple Syrup, fly fishing and playing adult league hockey.

Nathan Jejer

Owner / Supervisor / Lead Arborist

Nathan Jejer graduated from Paul Smith’s College in 2015 and double majored in Arboriculture & Landscape Management and Forest Technology. He has been in the industry for 10+ years and specializes in Insect and Disease Management. With more than 7 years tenure leading teams with Bartlett Tree Experts, his expertise and knowledge has allowed him to become invaluable to his team. Similar to Hunter, Nathan enjoys making Pure Connecticut Maple Syrup, fishing, hiking and spending time with friends and family.
